Security Improvements Made at Justice Center - Thanks to a grant awarded to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, by the Administrative Offices of Courts, deputies are now able to use a x-ray machine to check inside briefcases, purses, bags or other personal items which may be brought into the justice center.  The grant also provided a new walk-through metal detector, and sets of heavy bollards that prevent crashing a vehicle through the glass fronts of the building. This will help protect justice center employees as well as visitors.
